BitLocker protects the data by encrypting all the data in the disk. The files that you save into that volume also gets encrypted and no one can use it without the password. The password can be saved into some files.
There are three authentication modes to build up a BitLocker they are:
Transparent Operation Mode:- In this method the user can log in and can have a transparent interface with the hardware but cannot access the bitlocker if the boot logs are altered
User Authentication Mode:- In this mode the user is asked to enter the BitLocker key before the prebootup environment.
USB Key Mode:- In this type the the BitLocker key is present in the USB drive, so the user must plug in the device before bootup. without that USB device the BitLocker cannot be opened.
